Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 14, 2026
Tripeaz is a free trip-planning app built and run by an individual developer — not a company. This policy explains what information the app handles and why. The short version: your data is used to run the app, and for nothing else.
What we collect
- Account information. When you sign up, we store your email address (and, if you sign in with Google, the basic profile information Google shares for authentication).
- Content you create. Trips, days, activities, collections, share links, and version-history snapshots are stored so the app can sync them across your devices and collaborators.
- Local data. The app stores a copy of your itineraries and preferences (such as dark mode) in your browser's localStorage so it works offline and loads instantly.
- Technical basics. Our hosting and infrastructure providers may log standard technical data (IP address, browser type) as part of serving any website. We don't run analytics or advertising trackers.
How we use it
Only to operate Tripeaz: signing you in, saving and syncing your itineraries, enabling real-time collaboration, and honoring share links. We do not sell your data, show ads, build advertising profiles, or send marketing email.
Third-party services
The app is built on a small number of service providers that process data on its behalf:
- Supabase — authentication and database (stores your account and trip data).
- Google — optional "Continue with Google" sign-in.
- Netlify — website hosting.
- Content delivery networks — Google Fonts and Font Awesome are loaded from CDNs, which receive standard web requests from your browser.
Browser extension
The Tripeaz browser extension reads the page you're currently on — its title, URL, and visible description — only when you click the extension icon. It doesn't run in the background, and it doesn't read any tab you haven't explicitly opened the extension on. What it reads is shown to you in the extension popup before anything is saved, so you can edit or clear it first.
If you save an item, that title, URL, description, and your chosen type and collection are sent to the same Supabase backend as the rest of the app and stored as a collection item on your account — the extension doesn't collect or send anything beyond what's needed for that save.
Sharing and collaboration
If you generate a share link, anyone who has that link can view (or, for edit links, modify) that trip. Share links carefully, and delete them from the Share dialog when you no longer want them active. Collaborators on a trip can see its contents and the version history of changes.
Data retention and deletion
Your data is kept for as long as your account exists. To delete your account and its data, contact the developer and it will be removed. You can clear the app's local data at any time by clearing your browser storage.
Security
Reasonable, industry-standard measures are used (encrypted connections, managed authentication). That said, Tripeaz is a personal project provided for free — no method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, and you shouldn't store sensitive information (passport numbers, payment details, credentials) in your itineraries.
Children
Tripeaz is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data.
Changes
This policy may be updated as the app evolves; the date above reflects the latest revision. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
